18 Weeks and TOMORROW!

My appointment was on Tuesday, and it went great!  My blood pressure was 108/47 (which is my normal, just like with Tanner. If you were reading back when I was blogging about being pregnant with him you'll remember how I knew I was creeping up on pre-eclampsia because of my blood pressures)

I still haven't gained any weight.  And actually I've lost it.  I guess that happens when you can't eat much.  And on that note, I was able to get a new prescription for zofran!  Hopefully I won't have to refill this one.

Baby's heart rate was 160! Tanner's was mostly always in the 140s.  This was such a great time.  I haven't felt the baby move in a week so knowing it was fine was such a relief.  And it was the first time I got to hear the heart beat!  My last appointment, my doctor couldn't find it and we had to have a quick ultrasound.

TOMORROW is the day I've been looking forward to for a month (since I found out the appointment date).  It's anatomy scan day!  I hope baby cooperates and lets us see if it's a he or a she.  But most importantly, I hope we can get a good measurement and see that baby is healthy!

YAY!

***Edit to add: this is my 200th POST! Crazy!!!***

17 Weeks and Family Visit Pictures

I am 17 weeks pregnant today.  It's a little difficult to believe I'm that far along, already.  We find out if 2.0 is a boy or a girl in 10 days!

I'm still feeling run down and nauseous every single day.  I have to rely on zofran just to get anything done.  And today, taking zofran as soon as I woke up apparently didn't help. I re-read some old blog posts I wrote from when I was pregnant with Tanner, and I was feeling so much better by this time.  I barely have an appetite, but I force myself to eat little things throughout the day. I also haven't gained anything. I'm sure that's because I just don't want to eat anything.  17 weeks along with Tanner I was already up 9 pounds! Yikes. We have Hershey Kisses and M&Ms in the house and I just don't want any of it.

I have felt kicks, though! And that's always awesome.

Nick's mom and brother drove out to Oklahoma last week.  It was really nice to see them! I really miss family.  Tanner enjoyed the visit as well.

Tanner's uncle Don is a tennis player, and now Tanner has his own racket!

Laughing at Daddy
"Must snuggle with Daddy"
Bud got jealous
We moved the furniture around in the living room and now Tanner can turn the TV off.

Tot-School (Purple Week)

Tanner is 19 Months old

**Warning, this post is very picture heavy**

The last two weeks we have been working on the color purple.  I've tried to add a few more activities and different things to keep Tanner interested more.  I think we succeeded.

I'll start with the sensory bin, because Tanner wanted to play with it as soon as possible. Hence the second picture. (I had just finished putting it together) I was so excited about this bin.  He usually tips whatever sensory thing we are working on and throws it all around.  Even the last time I did rice, it wasn't much of a hit.  This time, however, he loved it.  He just sat there scooping and pouring, digging, burying, and stirring.

I knew it was only a matter of time before the rice was on the carpet and not on the towel.
We made homemade silly putty, too!  I thought it was so cool.  The more you play with it the better it gets! Here's the recipe.  Tanner was interested in it, but did not want to touch it.  He's picky like that.

Stickers were also a big hit!

Of course we had to do some play-doh play.  This is one of Tanner's favorite things.  Right up there with balls and cars. The top pictures are showing him do his own thing.

After we were done with the play-doh, he readily put the felt circles onto the flannel board.

Tanner is very picky when it comes to strange consistencies, but he still painted! You can see the unsure look on his face.

This activity, paper tearing, was a no-go.  He wanted to roll around on the floor instead.

Coloring is still not a favorite.  But he was pretty proud of his circles on the table!

I probably shouldn't have done this next activity in the living room.  I don't know where two of the flowers are and the main paper went missing for a week.  I finally found it last night.

Our random non-color-related activity was bath tub painting.  I have seen this floating around pinterest and wanted to give it a try.  Much to my surprise, Tanner enjoyed it!

Breastfeeding and Weaning

Well, I knew the day was coming soon.  We've had some pretty big obstacles to overcome, but we made it to almost 20 months breastfeeding!  I'm very proud of how we did.  Back when we were having painful latching issues around 11 months, I thought I was going to have to wean Tanner on my own.  But thankfully, we made it through that and made it 9 additional months! I was so upset back then thinking we may have to wean.  I wasn't ready, and Tanner definitely wasn't ready, either.

But now, I don't feel sad at all.  Tanner weaned on his own.  This is what is supposed to happen.  And I'm thankful it happened the way it did.  Typically a pregnant woman who is still nursing will have drastic problems with milk supply later in pregnancy.  I'm glad Tanner weaned before that happened.  I would have been upset to think he didn't know where his milk was!

The first week in August is World Breastfeeding Week. And I sort of think it's funny how the last day Tanner nursed was July 31st.
