18 Weeks!

This week baby is the size of a sweet potato! And sweet potatoes sound amazing right now!

I'm really starting to feel more pregnant every day.  And I think my belly is rounding out more.  I obviously look more pregnant now than just fat because I got my first stranger comment last night at dinner.  Our waitress said congratulations to me and I asked "what?", she then said "baby?" and made an outline of a baby belly on herself.  I realized what she was talking about then and said thank you to her.  She then began to ask when I was due, and whether we know if it's a boy or a girl. After she walked away I told Nick I would be too nervous to EVER ask someone if they are expecting.  He said she probably breathed a sigh of relief when I said thank you.

I am so incredibly excited for this upcoming week! Thursday we will have our anatomy scan!  We will be able to see if baby's heart, skull and bones are all there and developing on track.  We also get to find out if I've got a little boy or girl in there! I am so happy I am working Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday! It will make the time go by faster!

How far along? 18 weeks 1 day

Due Date:  Dec. 10

Total weight gain/loss:
Up 1 this last week, a total of 11 :( (I don't eat a whole lot when I'm at work, so I suppose it is just the growing baby...)

Maternity clothes? More than not.  I need to get more maternity scrubs.  I can hardly fit in my normal ones now.

Sleep: Pretty good.  I have at least one day a week where I don't sleep.

Best moment this week: Has to be when Nick felt the baby kick for the first time!

Movement: Every day I feel it! Last night was amazing! I felt a hard kick/jab, so I grabbed Nick's hand and put it on that same spot.  The baby then kicked the hardest I have felt yet, and Nick got to feel it the same time I did. I love that!

Food cravings: Still ribs.  I think I have some every week. lol Oh, and also Ice water. It helps when I'm feeling nauseous.

Food aversions: Brushing my teeth has gotten a little better. I only gag once or twice now when I taste toothpaste.

Symptoms: I pee ALL.THE.TIME. 2-3 times a night.

Gender:
We find out on Thursday!!!!!!! (I'm thinking boy)

Labor Signs: None yet

Belly Button in or out? Still in, I haven't noticed any difference yet.

What I miss: Being comfortable when I'm just sitting or laying down

What I am looking forward to: Absolutely the anatomy scan on Thursday! Then we go to the city on Friday to pick up a dear friend at the airport and we're going to do a lots a little shopping! And the following week my parents come to visit!!! I'm loving July!

Milestones: Kicks that can be felt on the outside!

Due Date:  December 10

Total weight gain/loss:
 9 pounds total

Maternity clothes? Oh yes!

Sleep: Pretty good so far

Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat last week!

Movement: Everyday! I love it!

Food cravings: ICE cold drinks, BBQ ribs

Food aversions: Absolutely, 100% toothpaste! I can NOT stand to brush my teeth!

Symptoms: Still gaging on a bunch of weird smells. Getting nauseous when I don't eat every few hours.

Gender:
We will find out in a week! July 14th!

Labor Signs: Nothing yet, thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: Being comfortable, I feel so wide lately.

What I am looking forward to: Our big anatomy scan on the 14th!

Milestones: I think feeling movement everyday is a pretty big milestone!

Baby is the size of an onion this week! And from the baby center: baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

16 weeks!

Avocado! That seems big! :)

This week about baby:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now,  4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

TOENAILS!!! WOW!

How far along? 16 weeks!

Due Date:  12/10/11

Total weight gain/loss:
 +1 (9 total)

Maternity clothes? Yes!

Sleep: More good days than not lately

Best moment this week: Talking to all the pregnant women at work! :)

Movement: I think I might bee feeling something. Nothing lately though

Food cravings: BBQ RIBS!!! YUM!

Food aversions: Not too much

Symptoms: Still a little gagging here and there. I feel car sick really fast too. I'm also having to pee ALL the time.  Sometimes I have to go so suddenly I run into the bathroom door.  I guess my body is faster than my hand can turn the door knob. (I literally do this at least once a day).  I seem to be getting pretty clumsy as well.  I made a huge mess, spilling everything one day when I was making dinner.

Gender:
 I don't know...hopefully finding out SOON!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly

What I am looking forward to: Postponed doctors appointment Wednesday!!!

Milestones: I'm 4 months pregnant!

That's Hank in the background trying to get into the cat food bag we just brought home. (And this is after eating my BBQ ribs!)

LEMON!

How far along? 14 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain/loss:
 +1

Maternity clothes? More than not...SO comfortable!

Sleep: I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep for over an hour.  I hope this gets better for a little while, while I start my new job tomorrow!

Best moment this week: I think I felt flutters this week...

Movement: Flutters

Food cravings: Ice cold water! Helps with the nausea that I still have

Food aversions: Nothing in particular, just random things here and there

Symptoms: Nausea, insomnia, emotional at times (When the restaurant we were at today said they were out of ribs, I could have cried. But that passed quickly)

Gender:
I'm starting to think girl, but who knows! Just a few more weeks!

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button in or out? Still all the way in

What I miss: I miss my sleep, and fitting in my clothes

What I am looking forward to: More movement

Milestones: Possible flutters

A little about baby this week:

Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

My belly is so big today! It's a little uncomfortable.

Hello 2nd Trimester!!!

Yay! Finally I made it to the second trimester!  So many great things are to come (hopefully)!  Increase in energy, decrease in morning sickness, movement, boy/girl, bigger bump, nesting...

Not to mention the chances of a miscarriage decrease to 99.9% (says my OB).

I can't believe I am 1/3 done with this pregnancy! Wow!

Baby is the size of a peach this week! Perfect summer fruit!

 Baby Center:
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head -- which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.

Survey:

Sleep: Not too great

Best moment this week: Getting my appetite back, slowly, but it's coming!

Movement: I think I may have felt a flutter or two but I'm not too sure, hopefully soon!

12 Weeks!

It seems like I just did a weekly update!   Baby is the size of a large plum.  Which is pretty cool since two weeks ago it was the size of a prune.  It's getting bigger and bigger now! :)

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long and weighs half an ounce.

How far along? 12 weeks 1 day

Due Date:  12/10/11

Total weight gain/loss:
 I didn't weigh today...

Maternity clothes? A couple shirts still, no bottoms yet, but getting very close to the point of needing them!

Sleep: Hasn't been the great the past week.  I'm having trouble getting comfortable, and the maternity pillow isn't helping much yet.  My joints hurt!

Best moment this week: The pool opened! And only one week left in 1st trimester!

Movement: Not yet, but I keep hoping it's soon!

Food cravings: Nothing.  I'm wanting to get my appetite back.  I miss it!

Food aversions: Pretty much anything at this point

Symptoms: Nausea. Haven't gotten sick since Monday though! Although I feel like I want to everyday

Gender:
 Will find out in July

Labor Signs: None yet, thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: My appetite, feeling normal, sleep

What I am looking forward to: I'm welcoming the 2nd trimester very much! I'm looking forward to the  end of morning sickness and the burst of energy! (I think I had a good 2 hour burst this morning)

Milestones: Just getting to this point. Almost 1/3 the way through! 12 weeks sounds so far to me! (But not quite as far once I remember this pregnancy could last 40 weeks...)

I feel (and see) my belly has rounded out quite a bit since last week.  When I walk around the pool I wonder if people just think I've eaten too much french fries. I can't believe how far along I'll be at the end of the pool season!

Week 11

Baby is a lime! For some reason, that seems so big to me!
Baby Center this week:

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. Her diaphragm is growing and she may be hiccuping.

How far along? 11 weeks

Due Date:  12/10/11

Total weight gain/loss:
 +5 total, none this week

Maternity clothes? Some shirts, BeBand still

Sleep: Getting better each week

Best moment this week: Finding out I get an ultrasound at Monday's appointment!

Movement: None yet, can't wait!

Food cravings: I wanted pop tarts for a split second earlier this week, nothing else though

Food aversions: Too much to mention, ugh

Symptoms: Bad morning sickness, although it seems to have gotten better again the past two days.

Gender:
  Too early to tell

Labor Signs: Hopefully not for a LONG time!

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: My energy!

What I am looking forward to: Monday's appointment! I've been waiting for 7 weeks!

Milestones: One more week closer to 2nd trimester

Sorry about the picture, I don't know why it turned out darker than usual.  This was taken before I ate because after I eat I look like my belly has grown 4 weeks! It may not look like it's grown too much but I can tell it has! I can feel a little ball like thing when I lay on my belly.  Now, it's time for a nap!

10 weeks!

This last week feels like it flew by!  Baby is now the size of a prune.  Which is pretty cool because in a couple weeks s/he will be a plumb!  I really enjoyed reading babycenter.com's info for this week! It is pretty in depth, and it makes me happy! :)

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long.

Weekly survey:

How far along? 10 weeks 1 day

Due Date:  12/10/11

Total weight gain/loss:
 +1lb

Maternity clothes? Yes, shirts only. BeBand for pants

Sleep: I've been sick so I haven't been sleeping great. I got a new maternity pillow though, so no more aches and pains!

Best moment this week: Going to OB orientation

Movement: None yet, but I've read that in experienced moms they can feel movement around this time because they know what they're looking for. So I'm hoping it might be soon!

Food cravings: I had one craving this past week. For Burger King. They are the only burgers I like.

Food aversions: Anything greasy

Symptoms: I had a bit of nausea yesterday-more like I just didn't want to eat anything even though I was starving.  I've been sick with a nasty cold so that could be a reason.

Gender:
Still a little early. But I'm really thinking boy for some reason. But I would love either!

Labor Signs: Nope!

Belly Button in or out? In

What I miss: Feeling normal

What I am looking forward to: First doctor appointment in a week!

Milestones: Double digits! :)

Here is my weekly belly shot.  I swear I'm smaller than I had been.  Bloat is a crazy thing! I have more of a bump at the bottom where it should be now. Ha!

This last week I went to OB orientation on base.  It was pretty much a bunch of lectures, but I learned some.  It was nice to hear the differences in the two hospitals here in town.  I'm still pretty happy with the one I choose.  I didn't really like the lectures on exercise and diet.  I know it's important. But right now, I am still so tired all day long. Once I start getting that extra energy boost during the 2nd trimester, I'll walk more.  And being pretty pick with what I eat, I will eat what I am craving, because if not, I won't be eating.  I think getting a little food in, even if it isn't the best for you is better than not eating at all because of nausea. Anyway, the best part was the very generous gift they gave each one of us!  We got a ton of baby stuff from Gerber! They are so cute and I can't wait to actually use it all! Here is a picture:

Overall, this past week has been ok.  I started getting sick on Friday and have been sick since.  It really would be nice to be able to breath again!
