As I am laying here in bed trying so hard to fall asleep, all I can think about is my blog. There is so much flying through my head right now. Many different things I want to write about.
I think my problem with blogging is I have been getting bored with it. I've been writing about the same things all the time. And there are quite a bit of things I wish I could write about but I don't because I have friends and family that read this blog. I mean, that was the whole reason of starting this thing, right?
I've thought about starting a new blog and writing about the things I didn't feel comfortable sharing with people I see and talk to in real life, but I don't think I will. I don't think I will share the URL on my Facebook anymore, so maybe the people who read my blog are people who actually care about us, or at least like us (or not!). Haha.
I want to write about so much. And I don't want it to be a chore. So I will never have sponsors, or adds. I don't want to get paid to write about my life. I just want to have stories and pictures in one place so I can look back and relive it all.
So, here's to starting fresh. I hope I can keep up with the random thoughts/ideas/vents/and whatever else I come up with.

14 Days of Valentines
I was really wanting to do something special for Nick this year for Valentine's day. So after spending hours some time on Pinterest, I gathered some ideas. 14 days of Valentine's. Nick is pretty picky so I had to think of different things that he might like and come up with a corny saying. (My friend Kaitlin did this, as well, and came up with some completely different ideas. It was fun comparing ideas).
I found a template through Pinterest of some tags I could use. But after looking at them I could only use a handful without having to edit them. So on to Photoshop I went. I had a lot of fun editing them and adding my own designs and sayings. You can find the original templates here.
Each day I gave Nick a gift. Each day had some sort of goodie/treat.
The next two pictures show what I gave Nick today, Valentine's Day.
This was a LOT of fun! From beginning to end!

Snow day photo dump
I was sure Tanner wouldn't like being in the snow. We had gone to the park the other day and it was windy and cold. He hated it! But he proved me wrong, like he often does, and loved the snow!
This was the first measurable amount of snow since the day I went to the hospital to be induced, back on December 6, 2011. (It did snow on Christmas here in OK, but we were in NC). I'm so glad I was able to get pictures of Tanner playing on his first snow day!
He had 3 layers on. I'm surprised he could move!

I guess he didn't enjoy the cold taste. |
He's starting to get fussy here. Time to go inside! |

C25K Week 2
Week 1 was great! Day 3 of week 1 I had to run on the treadmill due to sucky weather (and not wanting Tanner to catch a cold). I started feeling my shin splints coming back. I hoped taking two days off and starting week 2 day 1 on Saturday would make everything better.
Nick and I ran on the track on Saturday. Nick pushed the stroller and I really took it easy. Week 2 is a 5 minute warm up walk followed by 90 seconds of running and 2 minutes of walking, for 20 minutes. And then a final 5 minute cool down walk. Half way through the running I felt the shin splints coming back, again. I slowed my pace and finished. Instead of walking the track for the 5 minute cool down we walked to the park so Tanner could play for a little while since the weather was nice.
Once we got to the park I sat down to rub my legs and the tremendous pain hit. I never realized how bad shin splints could feel. I literally could barely walk. Yesterday my legs weren't any better. And today, still sore, but improving a little bit.
We went to the mall and I bought some new running shoes, so I'm hoping I can fix this problem. Also I'm Googling like crazy for good ways to stretch my muscles before and after I run. Other than shin splints, I feel really good! My endurance is getting better, and I'm feeling healthier.
I was supposed to run today for week 2 day 2, but I think I will give my legs one more day to heal and run tomorrow morning. Or if I can get the timing to work out I may run tonight.
