Baby's heartbeat. Simply amazing! Baby's heart rate was 144. So according to the old wives tale it's a boy. My doctor said he is 50% sure it's a boy. Ha ha ha. I caught on to that joke. He said most people don't get it.
Not only did I get to hear the heart beat and be reassured that everything is ok, my doctor said the chance of miscarriage drops 99.9% now. I also got to feel where my uterus is. It's almost to my belly button! I didn't realize it was that high already!
I also got to schedule my anatomy scan and lab draw. It will be in 2 weeks! July 14th! I will finally find out if this baby is a boy or a girl! We already have names picked out so it will be such a nice feeling to be able to call baby by his or her name!
My parents will be here just a few days after that appointment! I am so incredibly excited for July! I am so blessed!

Nervous
I'm so nervous! I have my second doctor's appointment today. I've been feeling pretty good lately (other than a super sensitive gag reflex) and I haven't really felt much movement lately. I'm worried about the baby. I know this is normal, and it's just at the point where I'm in between feeling movement everyday, but it's hard to know. I hope everything goes well, and that I'm just paranoid.
I'll update again when I get back this afternoon.

16 weeks!
Avocado! That seems big! :)
This week about baby:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
TOENAILS!!! WOW!
Gender: I don't know...hopefully finding out SOON!

Sleep: More good days than not lately
Best moment this week: Talking to all the pregnant women at work! :)
Movement: I think I might bee feeling something. Nothing lately though
Food cravings: BBQ RIBS!!! YUM!
Food aversions: Not too much
Symptoms: Still a little gagging here and there. I feel car sick really fast too. I'm also having to pee ALL the time. Sometimes I have to go so suddenly I run into the bathroom door. I guess my body is faster than my hand can turn the door knob. (I literally do this at least once a day). I seem to be getting pretty clumsy as well. I made a huge mess, spilling everything one day when I was making dinner.
Gender: I don't know...hopefully finding out SOON!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still in
What I miss: Sleeping on my belly
What I am looking forward to: Postponed doctors appointment Wednesday!!!
Milestones: I'm 4 months pregnant!
That's Hank in the background trying to get into the cat food bag we just brought home. (And this is after eating my BBQ ribs!)

Update?
So I know I've been slacking this week. I will not have an update for 15 weeks, mainly because I'm almost at 16 weeks. I've been pretty busy this week to say the least.
Well, I guess I can do a little updating. Baby is the size of an orange at 15 weeks. I've started feeling a little bit better. Still having some nausea here and there. I was so happy to not have thrown up in 4 weeks...but then Tuesday morning came around. I hate brushing my teeth.
My belly is growing. I didn't take a 15 week picture, but I can tell. Much of my scrub tops don't fit anymore. And my belly hangs out when I wear old tank tops. I've felt a few flutters here and there. I don't think I have felt much the past few days because I've been working all day.
I do get hungry really fast though. It seems like it just comes on immediately. Snacks are my friend...but probably not so much a friend to my waist line.
I started my actual job on Monday. I'm working 12 hour shifts now, which I'm not use to. But I've actually handled it pretty well (I don't think I will be able to say the same once I switch to nights...). The one thing that has been hard to get use to is my feet. They are angry with me for standing on them for so long.
I am so lucky, though. Nick has been so great the past few days! Monday when I got home from work he had completely rearranged the living room! I wanted to try to do something different but I was going to wait until the weekend. Yesterday he had dinner ready when I got home! He is amazing, and I couldn't imagine my life without him!
I will try to get an update up on Saturday. Baby will be the size of an avocado! (WOW!)

Sleep: I wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back to sleep for over an hour. I hope this gets better for a little while, while I start my new job tomorrow!
Best moment this week: I think I felt flutters this week...
Movement: Flutters
Food cravings: Ice cold water! Helps with the nausea that I still have
Food aversions: Nothing in particular, just random things here and there
Symptoms: Nausea, insomnia, emotional at times (When the restaurant we were at today said they were out of ribs, I could have cried. But that passed quickly)
Gender: I'm starting to think girl, but who knows! Just a few more weeks!
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still all the way in
What I miss: I miss my sleep, and fitting in my clothes
What I am looking forward to: More movement
Milestones: Possible flutters
A little about baby this week:
Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him -- a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.
My belly is so big today! It's a little uncomfortable.

Hello 2nd Trimester!!!
Yay! Finally I made it to the second trimester! So many great things are to come (hopefully)! Increase in energy, decrease in morning sickness, movement, boy/girl, bigger bump, nesting...
Not to mention the chances of a miscarriage decrease to 99.9% (says my OB).
I can't believe I am 1/3 done with this pregnancy! Wow!
Baby is the size of a peach this week! Perfect summer fruit!
Baby Center:
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head -- which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.
Gender: We'll find out next month!
