2.0 Update

I had another appointment today. I knew we were planning on getting another ultrasound because my doctor wasn't able to get a great estimate on the due date.

We were sent to a room and my doctor tried to find the heartbeat with the Doppler, but after a minute or two he couldn't find it. So we were going to get another ultrasound for sure. It was maybe 5-10 minutes of waiting to go to the ultrasound room. I know it's normal to not be able to find the heart beat on the Doppler early, but I still worried. Nick tried to distract me.

When we started the ultrasound, 2.0 immediately started jumping around and kicking. I felt such a relief. I saw the heartbeat flickering and it was beautiful! We saw little hands and little fingers, a knee and feet! I compared this ultrasound picture to the one of Tanner around the same time and 2.0 is much bigger. So maybe I am farther along than I thought. I calculated (by charting ovulation) my due date to being February 7th. But after two ultrasounds, they are keeping my due date as January 28th.

That means I went from being 12 weeks 3 days to 14 weeks tomorrow! I completely skipped week 13 and am in the second trimester.

I'm hoping this due date is accurate because it's almost a 2 week difference. And that's HUGE when you are wanting a VBAC. If it's wrong, I doubt I will ever go into labor on my own before they want me to schedule a c-section.

I have one more chance to have a better idea of a due date. My anatomy scan has been scheduled for August 30th. That's ONE month away! I'm not ready for this pregnancy to be flying by! I want it to go slow!

Here's sweet 2.0's second picture!

And here is a comparison picture from one month ago.

July Phone Photo Dump (19 Months Old)

Since Tanner is still 19 months old, there wont be as many pictures in this photo dump.

He's a little big for the wagon. But that doesn't stop him!

He LOVES playing in the ottoman. He brings the ball bin over to it and dumps it out every morning.

Tanner, what's on your shirt? "AT!" (Airplane)

Frozen yogurt was a hit!

AH! Toys everywhere!

He loved the big fish at the kid's discovery center.

New haircut.  I couldn't get a good picture though.  He talks a lot.

Watching Mickey before bed one night

He just sat there flipping the pages back and forth.

He makes me giggle.  He slept like this for 30 minutes.  And when he rolled over and the blanket moved, he grabbed it and put it back on his head.

June Phone Photo Dump (18 Months Old)

It's been a little while since I did a phone photo dump.  So while I'm resting on the couch trying not to throw up, I'll do a couple posts for June and July. Remember, these pictures are from my phone, so they will probably be blurry and grainy.

This boy has some funny sleeping positions.

This is the picture I used to announce 2.0's pregnancy on Facebook.
He definitely loves the boy toys.  Balls, cars, planes...

A little outside fun. (Now it's 100+ degrees out and miserable)

Heading to the pool

Hanging out with his buddy, Lucas

Cooling off with a V8 juice popsicle
This is what happens with Dada does bath time
We let Tanner take a nice long nap on the 4th of July (after going to his first movie- Monster's University). So we kept him up a little later than usual so he could see the fireworks.  He wasn't too sure about them. He didn't like the big 'Pops', but he did say, "Woooow" a few times.  As long as he had Dada to cuddle up to he was fine.

Waiting for it to get dark enough for the fireworks.  Getting sleepy but watching the cars drive by was pretty neat.

I love this picture.  Dada's boy.

Nick loves to go bowling.  The last time we went we decided to see what Tanner thought of it.  The smallest sized shoes they had were 3 sizes too big, but they worked. He thought the ball return was SO MUCH BETTER than rolling the ball down the lane.

Not too bad for an 18 month old's first try! Especially the last two frames!
Tanner and Bud are really starting to bond.

Bud knows the sweet spot is below the highchair during meal times!

Tot-School (Blue Week)

Tanner is 19 Months old

I did a little something different for Blue week.  After reading some other tot-school blogs and seeing them do things for 2 weeks, instead of one, I decided to try it as well.  It's either working, or Tanner is reaching an age where he really is enjoying this now.  Probably a combination of the two.

So we took things slow and (other than coloring) Tanner really enjoyed tot-school.  I didn't do anything different than I usually do for the color weeks, except add in one new activity.  So the pictures will be very similar to all the other color weeks.

The first try was a sorting type of try.  He actually tried to do this. for the first time! Usually he grabs the balls and throws them onto the floor.

Those feet.  Love them!
Soon Tanner gathered up the waterbeads and took them to the floor to play.  I knew it was coming. He loves those things.

I can say Tanner enjoyed the sensory bin this week.  He picked through it without actually tipping it over all over the floor. (He did end up doing that, though).

"What does an elephant say?"

Tanner used some of the things from the sensory bin to create his own activities!

This was the new activity we did this week.  I painted some wooden beads (from Hobby Lobby!) two different colors of blue and bent the bottom of a pipe cleaner.  He couldn't do it quite by himself, but with a little help from me, he did it all!

Each week I do a little coloring/crafts with Tanner.  He doesn't really like it too much yet.  He would rather be pulling things apart, figuring out how they work, or exploring.  Not sitting down and coloring.  I'm hoping he will like doing it one day, because I love to color!  I would like to color with him. But I'm not going to force it on him if he just doesn't care to do it.

The dot paint activity never lasts long.  He'd rather slide the paper off the table.
Bath time! Thanks Pinterest!
We did some non-blue activities this week, as well.

Since we don't live near family at all, I work really hard to teach Tanner who his grandparents are. He recognizes his Memaw, Papaw, and Grandma!!!  He really likes looking at his Papaw's (my dad) picture.  I think it has something to do with that funny thing on his face. :)

Sorry for the blurry camera phone picture.

Sweet moments like this.

Im typing this on my phone while I'm in bed because I need to write this down before I forget.

Tanner turned 19 months old yesterday. And yesterday marked 19 months that we've shared that special bond nursing. In the past month Tanner has one from nursing 3 times a day, to only once in the morning. So this morning I cherished it a little longer. I talked to him, and he talked back. (I know he was just picking up on words I was saying but it was so sweet)

I told him that I knew our special bonding time was going to stop soon, and that I will miss it. I told him other ways we could share special time together. And he replied, "Yeah! Yeah!"

Then I told him how well we did, in relation to breastfeeding. How we overcame a lot of difficulties. We passed our goal of 12 months and were able to enjoy it. And Tanner said, "wooooow!"

I told him "you know not everyone is able to do this, and that's ok". In which he replied, "no, I know."

After that cute little conversation I had with him I couldn't help but imagine what he would look like in another year. Or what he will do when he's an adult. I know this time I have with him where I can swoop him up in my arms and kiss his little lips is short lived. He won't want his momma doing that soon. So I am taking every single day one at a time and enjoying the heck out of it. I can't believe God blessed me with such an amazing life with the most wonderful family.

Ramblings

I finally have reorganized the office, and cleaned up tot-school.  I have been missing it and so has Tanner.  So that's a good thing.  I'm feeling pretty good today surprisingly.  No need for Zofran.  And I'm feeling a little bit productive.  Just a littttttle bit. Ha!  I'm going to get blue week ready for this coming week's tot-school.  But as I sit here in the office I'm trying to figure out what we are going to do when 2.0 comes.

It's not going to be a rush at all.  The baby will be in our room until probably 5 months.  (We'll play that one by ear). So a nursery isn't going to need to be put together before he/she comes.  But I'm thinking about moving my desk into the living room.  That way maybe we can have some room for a bed in the office and turn our guest bedroom into 2.0's room. I love having an office though.  And we really don't have a ton of room.  These base houses are small.  And Tanner does so well sleeping that I am not planning on making him share a room with an infant.  We'll redo his room into a big boy room before long, too.

The desk in the living room will not look too terribly tacky, it's a nice desk.  And I know this isn't our forever home, I mean, we'll be leaving in 2 years.  So I don't mind having a semi-crowded living room.  Sounds like I have a date with Pinterest during Tanner's nap!

I guess I should probably wait until Nick gets home from work to move the ridiculously heavy desk.
